Doubleheader tonight: Council, Planning Board

Two important public meetings tonight:

CITY COUNCIL - 8 PM, Council Chambers/Courthouse, 4th & Watchung
  • Ordinance on sex offender-free zones scheduled for tonight.

  • Budget: Why the $6M decline in tax assessments in last year? -- Does this deserve an in-depth explanation, giving the rising residential and commercial markets over the last 3 years?

  • The public may speak TWICE at meetings: Before business begins with questions on matters on the agenda; at the conclusion of business, on any matter of interest to the speaker.
PLANNING BOARD - 8 PM, City Hall Library, 515 Watchung
  • Discussion of proposed East 3rd St./Richmond St./Cottage Place study area.

  • Public will be allowed to ask questions.
