The Council will vote tonight to apply to the UEZ for 8 big ones ($800,000) for surveillance cameras.
Mr. Billups would be pleased.
He would be less happy if all the talk about where they are needed did not include his neighborhood -- East 6th Street. After all, it was his block association that got the ball rolling by persisting on this issue over many years.
There will be plenty to discuss about this initiative: cost, deployment, monitoring, evaluating and more.
I'll be posting more on each of these topics later.
