Citizen input for Master Plan sought Thursday evening

*

Residents are invited to give input to the Planning Board about concerns they have about the city's Master Plan and issues they wish to have addressed.

The Master Plan, a roadmap of how the city plans to manage its physical assets -- everything from streets to parks to housing and commercial and industrial development -- is being reviewed and updated by the Planning Board.

Public input is important to ensure that the Board is aware of residents' concerns and issues as they begin their deliberations in re-examing the Master Plan.

The Master Plan was completely revised about six years ago for the first time in 28 years. The administration and the Council have asked the Planning Board to review it again with an eye to updating it.

Maps and copies of the current plan will be available at the meeting. They are also available for inspection at the Division of Planning and Community Development on the 2nd floor of City Hall, between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM, prior to the meeting. Call (908) 753-3486 for more information.

The public meeting is at 8:00 PM this Thursday, June 15, at Union County College, East 2nd and Church Streets. Parking is available - use the Church Street entrance.

Public comment is important. Please make every effort to attend.
