This year's Plainfield Pride Film Festival launches on Friday evening (tomorrow) at the YWCA with a concert by the New Jersey Gay Men's Chorus (celebrating their 15th year) and a screening of the feature film Loggerheads (2005), set in North Carolina. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
The Festival has a jam-packed weekend of films, discussions, a dance gala and a closing party. For details, check the festival's website at Plainfield Pride Film Festival.
Venues for the festival are the historic YWCA's newly restored theater space (East Front and Church Streets) and the Plainfield Campus of Union County College (East Second and Church Streets). Parking is available at the college, entrance on Church Street.

I am fed up with all the Trenton wrangling. What we need to do is to have our legislatures meet twice yearly, cutting out all legislative aide salaries and reducing that of the elected representatives, including getting rid of the local office spaces, decorating, staffing, phones, etc. Let's start with the top people and work our way down to those who keep the state functioning.
